Q + A

Will the ceremony and reception take place at the same venue?

Yes, our wedding ceremony and cocktail reception will both be held at Tumbling Waters Retreat, located at 31 Stonehaven Rd, Stanwell Tops NSW. The venue is a one-hour drive south of the Sydney CDB, perched on the edge of the Illawarra Escarpment overlooking the rainforest and ocean. The closest train station is Helensburgh, which is approximately a 10-minute taxi ride away.

What time does the ceremony and reception start?

The ceremony will be held outdoors on the private gardens of the venue and starts at 3.30pm. Guests are asked to arrive at 3pm for pre-ceremony beverages. The cocktail reception starts immediately after the ceremony. Guests will be directed to the ground floor terrace area of the retreat, where the bar service continues and a grazing table of dips, cheese and fruit platters await. As a variety of canapes are served, guests will then have exclusive use of the downstairs function area, glass atrium and the aforementioned ground floor terrace in a sociable dining experience.

How do I RSVP?

To RSVP to our wedding, simply locate the RSVP tab on this website, enter the name(s) from the invitation, and follow the prompts to confirm your attendance and provide any dietary requests. Please RSVP by July 31, 2025.

What is the dress code?

The dress code is strictly formal. We kindly encourage our guests to dress in a neutral colour palette to complement our special day. Alternatively, guests are welcome to wear black to the event.

What happens if it rains on the day?

In the event of inclement weather, the outdoor ceremony will be moved indoors to the glass atrium. Fully equipped with a surround sound system, it the perfect Plan B location in unfavourable conditions.

Is there parking on site?

There is ample parking adjacent to the venue on the corner of Stonehaven Road and Bendena Gardens. Guests can enter Tumbling Waters Retreat via the side gate where a garden path will lead them directly to the ceremony area. If you are not leaving in your own vehicle at the conclusion of the reception, guests are encouraged to organise transportation well in advance. Please note, there are very few Ubers in the area late in the evening, and the local taxi service is known to be unreliable at this time of day.

What can we bring you as a gift?

Please know that your love and company on our wedding day is the only thing we could ask for. However, if you do wish to celebrate with a gift, a contribution towards our wishing well would be much appreciated.

Are children and plus-ones welcome?

We are very sorry, but we are unable to extend the invitation to children. Similarly, we cannot accommodate additional guests. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to celebrating with you.
